Teachers of Ikšķile Free school would like to learn from colleagues of the Nordic countries! We are looking for a primary school or preschool in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Island, Åland, Estonia or Lithuania for a mobility activity to apply for a grant under Nordplus programme.
Ikšķile Free school is a school established and run by parents. School uses holistic approach to education and devotes equal attention to physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of a person. School provides preschool and primary education to children and it is also a community center offering life-long learning and development opportunities and various events for adults. The motto of our school is “Happy children learn better”.
We have developed a project proposal for a teacher exchange on outdoor and environmental education and we would like to implement a mobility project of Nordplus programme. The mobility will include the mutual exchange of teachers of partner institution (preschool or primary school) in the respective countries and Ikšķile Free school with the aim to strengthen and develop cooperation between schools and to promote the development of quality, creativity and innovation in education. We are particularly interested in outdoor education and “forest”/outdoor preschools. Each visit will last for a week and will include sharing of experiences, learning from each other and discussions. There will be up to 5 participants per country. Participants of the teacher exchange will develop cooperation with colleagues in other countries, increase their motivation and gain new ideas on teaching about sustainability.
Nordplus Junior grant would include travel and accommodation/board expenses of participants. For more information please, read the HANDBOOK of the programme on the website of the programme. Ikšķile Free school would assume the coordinator of the project. The deadline for submitting Nordplus project proposal is March 1, 2017.
If you would like to become our partners in the project or discuss cooperation opportunities that benefit both sides for this or future projects, we will be happy to receive your message. Please send an e-mail to Mrs Evija Rudzīte (firstname.lastname@example.org).
